Celebrating gender and musical diversity : „UNIQUE“
"When words stop, music begins " (H.Heine).
In these times where wording is often misleading, music has the power to cultivate „deep“ listening again.
Jazz saxophonist, composer, music producer and orchestra MD Holly Schlott, at 60 years made the decision to address a personal topic of transgender in jazz."I realized that I had more to contribute to this dialogue with the time remaining in my life as a musician.“
Holly Schlott ́s vision: The orchestra „UNIQUE" in the best sense, presents a liberal sound celebrating gender identity, artists of musical diversity musically embracing the message clearly for acceptance, respect and support of minorities in society.
„I had to modify the original idea to form a worldwide orchestra with predominantly trans-ident artists. Registering that it would take relatively much longer to find the exclusive excellence and creativity needed for my electro-acoustic Jazz production. Opening the orchestra to musicians with LGBTQ+CIS background supported my vision with a new dialogue for authentic creativity/diversity together through MUSIC.
